Orange County has provided contractual animal care services for the City since its incorporation in 2000. The following services are provided to City residents:
Field Services: 24/7/365 regional patrols; stray animal impounding; injured animal pickup; cruelty investigations; citation issuance; nuisance complaints; etc.
Special Services: pet licensing; facility inspections; and low cost vaccination clinics.
Shelter Services: open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.; receive animals from the public; retain animals in accordance with State law; and pet adoptions.
License and Impound Processing: fee and data management services.
Barking Dog Complaint Services: assistance; investigations; hearings; and citations.
The City agrees to enact and maintain ordinances identical in intent to those adopted by the Orange County Board of Supervisors concerning animal care, including those which relate to fees.
