The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster and emergency preparedness. Training includes basic disaster response skills such as fire safety light search and rescue, team organization, and medical operations.
The program falls under the Federal Emergency Management Agency's jurisdiction and is standardized nationwide. Certification training consists of seven mandatory three-hour classroom sessions and a four-hour final disaster simulation exercise.
Registration for RSM CERT Class #2 is now underway! Residents of Rancho Santa Margarita are asked to complete an application and confirm their availability for all class sessions.
